This October, we’re celebrating the heart of our credit union—you. International Credit Union Day is a global reminder of what makes credit unions different: people helping people. It’s about building financial confidence, fostering community, and creating opportunities for success—together.
A Week of Member Celebration
We’re rolling out a week-long celebration filled with appreciation, giveaways and fun. Stop by our Brownstown, Southgate or Taylor locations. We’re kicking things off with a member-favorite: Shred Day!
Shred Day — Saturday, October 11th
Protect your identity and clear the clutter. Bring your old documents for safe, secure disposal.
Location: Brownstown Branch (23670 Telegraph Rd.)
Time: 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM
Monetary or non-perishable food donations are appreciated but not expected. Food donations will go to Fish & Loaves, and monetary donations will benefit Gilda's Club of Metro Detroit.
What to Expect All Week Long
Monday, October 13th: All branches will be closed for Columbus Day.
Tuesday, October 14th: It’s Pajama & Stuffed Animal Day. If you see the Advantage One employees wearing pajamas and holding a stuffed animal today, don’t be surprised. It’s a comfortable start to the week long celebration.
Wednesday, October 15th: Advantage One employees will be keeping warm today and showing off their favorite flannel wear.
Thursday, October 16th (International Credit Union Day): Come celebrate with us at Brownstown, Southgate or Taylor. Enjoy cider, donuts, swag and more! Employees will be sporting their “I Love Downriver” Shirts, along with silly shoes and socks.
Friday, October 17th: Stop by to see our employees enjoying Crazy Hair Day. Join us on this final day of celebration.
