Youth Accounts

Your kids will get a kick out of learning to manage money

It's never too soon to teach good savings habits.

From school teachers to coaches to clergy, parents get help from a lot of others as they try to raise their children right. At Advantage One, we'd also like to play a small part. Our two programs for young people can help parents teach lessons about financial responsibility that will last a lifetime.

M3 Money Club

No fees, but lots of fun. The M3 Money Club, for children under age 12, offers a real interest-earning savings account along with a wide range of enjoyable activities.

  • Savings Account: Open an account with a $5 deposit and become a member of both the club and the credit union.
  • Coloring Contests: Each of our three branches chooses a Coloring Contest winner each quarter. Winners get a $10 gift card and have their picture framed in our Art Gallery.
  • M3 Quarterly Contest: We make saving fun! Check out our current contest.
  • M3 Site: A fun place to learn about money and saving, this website is loaded with great articles, activities and games.1
  • Youth Share Certificates: With just a few dollars required to open the account and the ability to add funds at any time, a Youth Share Certificate puts kids on the path to saving.

Elements of Money

What do most teenagers like? We'd list pizza, loud music and technology. We'll let parents deal with the fist two, but our Elements of Money account, for teens 13 to 17, offers apps, podcasts, websites and digital tools that teach financial skills as they engage curious young minds.

  • Savings Account:  Open an account with a $5 deposit and become a member of both the club and the credit union.
  • Mini-site: A great place to learn about earning, budgeting, checking accounts and responsible credit usage and get in on cool contests.2
  • Elements Quarterly Contest: We make saving rewarding! Check out our current contest.
  • Checking Account and Debit Card: Available for teens 16-17 with parental co-signature
  • Online Banking: Keep tabs on accounts 24/7 from anywhere there's secure web access.
  • Mobile App: Access your accounts anytime, anywhere, with a smartphone or tablet.
  • Mobile Deposit: Depositing a check is as easy as snapping a picture with a mobile device and sending the images to Advantage One using our Mobile App.
  • Mobile Wallet: Carry your debit card information digitally on your phone. Instead of having to use your card for purchases, you can just swipe your phone against a store's payment terminal.
  • Popmoney and ePay: Use your smartphone to send money to friends and family members.
  • Scholarships:  Get money for college with scholarships that Advantage One awards every April.
